This system was developed with the idea of using the least amount of techniques and materials, and achieving maximum rigidity to accommodate the heavy loads of a library. The system's ingenuity lies in its simplicity of manufacture and installation, as each module can be separated from its wall support and attached elsewhere. 3mm aluminum plates are bent at 90° to create rigid supports for books in the lower sections, and “cap” supports for smaller objects in the upper sections. The whole system is reinforced by tensioned cables. The finesse and simplicity of this storage unit make it disappear into its context, while the play of vibrant aluminum reflections enriches its surfaces, rendering them immaterial.
